See that gray bubble?

It represents the air pollution we are all exposed to, but children are most affected.

Today, 93% of the world’s children are breathing polluted air.

It’s time for us to burst this bubble and create a future where our children can be #FreeToPlayOutside.

Why does air pollution affects children the most?

Children’s bodies are still developing. Organs such as the brain and lungs continue to mature into adolescence. Air pollution directly affects their health and growth.

Vehicles’ pollution accumulates closer to the child’s height. In addition, due to their smaller airways, it facilitates obstruction by pollutants, causing respiratory diseases that can last a lifetime.

Despite being smaller, children breathe more air. Compared to adults, they inhale up to 50% more air considering their size and weight, which significantly increases the amount of pollution they breathe.

How parents are engaging with this campaign?

Solution #1: Spread the word
to friends and family.
Spread this gray bubble. One of the best ways to help is to share information with others. Moms and dads are already using social media to take the message and draw attention to this problem. The more people who know, the more strength we have in this fight for clean air.

Solution #2: Take action with Parents For Future. Families in over 15 countries have joined Parents For Future. You can start from your region, demanding cleaner vehicles, supporting low-emission zones and asking local and global authorities for effective measures to fight air pollution.

Solution #3: Start your own local group. Parents For Future is a partner in this campaign and you can create your own group of parents in your town. You can start inviting friends, neighbors and family to join the cause. With everyone’s help, we can collaborate in joint actions in your community, city or country.

Fighting air pollution is fighting climate change

It’s not new that the combustion of oil, gas, wood and industrial residues, in addition to contributing to the global climate crisis, are the main causes of air pollution that is everywhere: streets, parks, squares and even indoors. This is what we call Short Life Climate Pollutants (SLCP). Research shows that, with measures that reduce SLCPs, we can also reduce global warming by 0.6°C by 2050.

When the pandemic ends, we want all children to be able to play outside without the constant pollution attacking their lungs.
